Safer, simpler cycling in British cities needs supporting. I was amazed when I was living in Columbus that they had better cycle lanes and provisions Downtown than Manchester (in the UK) had.
I realise that says a little about my preconceptions about America, but it also says quite a lot about cycling over here. So, when my friend sent me an email yesterday, asking me to back the Transport for Greater Manchester bid for funding to improve its cycling infrastructure, I thought it was not only worth backing, but also worth a boosting mention on here.
I'm no where near the cycling buff that she is, but I do think cycling is great fun, good exercise and a great way of travelling around cities, so if you have a minute, it would be great if you could back the bid.
